What experience or qualifications do I need to become an educator?
Experience working in education and care is not essential. Anyone can become an educator with the right training and qualifications!
You may have other skills and expertise which would support your work as an educator, however, we are also here to help you with your professional development and assist you with training to help you understand and apply the theories of childhood development and children’s learning throughout your career.
As part of the National Quality Framework, the ‘Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations’ determine that FDC educators must have:
✅ A minimum approved qualification or be enrolled and actively working towards the Certificate III in Education and Care.
✅ A First Aid Certificate which includes training on Anaphylaxis and Asthma management and CPR.
✅ A Working with Children Check for yourself and any person over the age of 18 years who resides at your home.
While the above are basic requirements, there are also additional requirements and expectations from educator candidates which are easy to meet under our professional guidance. We will elaborate on these during our face-to-face discussion.
